This program is designed to equip you for paid or volunteer employment in ‘English as a Second Language’ (ESL) teaching positions. It will provide you with a range of knowledge and skills to plan and deliver English lessons, as well as further develop specific competencies in an elective area. With a high focus on practical demonstration of skills, you will be ‘employment ready’ upon your graduation.

Delivery: This program is delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams with 3 hours of virtual class sessions and 3 hours assessment/delivery per week, which are virtual as well. Assessments and resources online via the Learning Management System. Some in-person attendance may be required for placement hours or mandatory workshops.

Duration: 15 hours structured self-paced online learning per week for 26 weeks, plus a 4 week break

- Completion of a Certificate III or higher level course in the Australian Qualification

- Teachers, trainers, lecturers or other supervisors of education programs confirming English language
Education/Core Skills
Students must complete a Pre-Training Review, meet the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skill standards for Certificate IV level study and demonstrate that they are a suitable candidate for this course. You may be also asked to undertake a pre-enrolment task to further assess your suitability for this course.
Age at Commencement
It is recommended that students have attained the age of 18 by the program commencement date.
